Design Software

Both Joshua and I have been asked numerous times what software do we use or suggest for creating our designs. Interesting enough, we both use different software. However, what we use are FREE.

Joshua prefers to use Inkscape, an open source software similar to Adobe Illustrator (AI). For some designs, he will use GIMP. Of course, if you can swing it, go ahead and subscribe the AI or Affinity Designer.

I personally use the Silhouette software because I have the Silhouette cutting machine. While I have the Business Edition software that does come with a one-time upgrade fee, the basic software is free. You don't need to upgrade to use it and you don't need the cutter to use it either.

No matter which application you use, we suggest watching YouTube videos to get yourself familiar with the software and how to effectively and efficiently use them.
